Christmas gifts parents really want

Christmas Gifts for Parents

Alright parents of the world. Last week I shared teacher gift ideas for Christmas to help you get your Christmas shopping started (or finished?! I see you early shoppers!). Now I’m coming in hot with Christmas gifts for the parents you won’t want to miss!

So whether you’re a teacher looking for DIY Christmas gifts for parents of your sweet little students to make in the classroom or a mama looking to add to your own Christmas list (or just shop for yourself - let’s be real), I’m excited to share this list full of goodies that will light up your heart!

That’s right -  7 Christmas gifts for the parents that they actually want!

Self Care Gift Guide for Parents

  1. This brightening face scrub is absolutely heavenly. Not kidding. It will wake you up in the shower & give ya that bright glow that doesn’t even say “I actually was woken up by a baby twice and a big kid with a bad dream.” It tricks me into feeling refreshed. This little luxury has been bringing the joy lately.

  2. And it’s best friend is this face lotion for afterwards. It’s light & shimmery & gives you that “I haven’t been telling the siblings to stop fighting all day glow.”

  3. If there were ever something parents of the world needed most - it’s more energy! And the best way I know how to increase mine is to up my water intake. This amazing water bottle helps me do the trick & it comes in all the pretty colors (or whatever colors the Dad’s are wishing for too)!

  4. Finally, this cozy weighted blanket is one of my favorite things that feels like a warm hug all winter. My kids love to use it too! Now this is definitely a splurge & who knows if it really melts your stress away & helps you sleep better or if it’s just placebo effect - but I love it! This couch blanket in front of a fire is just plain dreamy.

Oh and if you’re in the mid-Michigan area, give yourself the gift of time & peace of mind by sending your child to The Literacy Camp this summer. You can grab a gift card to The Literacy Camp here!

DIY Christmas Gifts for Parents

Now if you’re looking for some cheaper, DIY Christmas gifts for parents (or to make for the grandparents!)- you know this can be super fun but also can leave you with some adorable junk. And while I love a great memory ornament hanging on the tree reminding us just how little they were, I also don’t need too many more boxes of children’s projects taking up space because I just feel too bad throwing it away. Am I the only one?

Let’s meet in the middle & find a couple DIY Christmas gifts for parents that serve the cute AND functional categories.

Stuff like this makes Christmas gifts for parents from preschool & beyond just a little more fun!

5. This one is a problem solver for the ages!  And easy and fun to make! This Family Dinner Conversation Starter kit is so adorable! You know that whole “What did you do at school today?” problem where the answer is sometimes “I don’t know,”  “I can’t remember,” or the infamous “nothing?” Well - this cute little jar gets the family talking all year around the table. You can buy this little kit to get started or just totally make it yourself! Round up the kiddos, a jar, some paper & markers & you’re ready to make an adorable little gift that keeps on giving!

6. Okay, who doesn’t love a handmade ornament if it’s truly sentimental. This Air Dry Clay allows you to easily make that hand or footprint ornament that will truly be cherished. The great thing about it is how easy it is - just create & let dry! A jewelry dish for the mamas or even a tray for Dad to empty his pockets in each day are also super fun & functional ideas that make these homemade Christmas gifts for parents a hit. The tub is perfect for buying for a classroom or multiple kids at home to use!

Whether you’re a homeschool mama at heart or simply a family prioritizing learning at home when possible, I also have a few ideas that would make your life easier as you incorporate learning into everyday life.

So number 7 is going to be a quick compilation of my favorite Christmas gifts for homeschool moms & others encouraging learning at home…the kinds that will make life just a little easier.

And then - of course these heroes deserve all the self care goodness above too!

7. My favorite goodies for making learning at home easier, more efficient & more fun:

  • Sticky notes with lines! (Did you even know these exist?! I use them for everything!)

  • Electric pencil sharpener (never hear your kids complain about a broken pencil or a little hand sharpener again. This one just straight up solves problems).

  • Chart paper (the good kind...that just comes right off the pad & sticks right to the wall.) For teaching & remembering all the things!

  • A small pocket chart (I hang it by the kitchen table & stick any random learning items from the week into it as an easy reference point throughout the day or at meals!)

  • This learning blanket. Need a few minutes to put the baby down for nap or make yourself a cup of coffee? Here kids, snuggle under this blanket & read as many words as possible! Lay it on the ground & drive your cars from word to word! The possibilities are endless!

I could go on for a long time of course! But I’ll wrap it up there. While I love to share fun ideas with the teachers & mamas of the world...because I get you...I also know the real meaning behind the Christmas season is way bigger than gifts.

And I know what the parents really need are naps, coffee & a few extra kid snuggles & words of encouragement.

Thankfully, that last one I can offer here…

You’re doing this, parents. And you’re doing great! Hang in there. A new year is right around the corner.

Oh and if you missed the teacher gift ideas for Christmas guide I shared...you can check that out here!

Merry Christmas!

I’m praying for you & cheering you on!
